Key Items/Ondorus' Journal
A record of items beyond the scope of normal supplies that Ondorus has purchased or received.
Tent
A normal pup tent. Just big enough for Ondorus to sleep inside it longways. It's the same tan color as the more-impressive tents from home... He's been considering painting some red markings on it to complete the picture. The tent collapses down to a few rods, a folded piece of cloth, some string, and pegs. Isn't that convenient!
Camera
Purchased prior to the Ruins of Alph "expedition" with Kayneth. A valuable tool in documenting a Pokemon adventure.
Journal 1
The first of what will be many journals. A small grey notebook purchased in Violet City after the return trip from Goldenrod.
Contents:
--- Fundaments of Johto
Summary: Description of the presence of humans and Pokemon, the way in which the society accommodates both, Johto's geographical layout and climate, and the calendar.
--- Pokemon
Summary: Basic description of Pokemon mechanics. Types, moves, evolution, breeding, and so on. Short comparison to monsters as he knows them at the end.
--- Ruins of Alph
Summary: Description of the architecture and state of deterioration, ponderings on the history of Pokemon-human relationships in Johto as indicated by the Unown, account of the trip through the puzzle chambers, more ponderings, some speculation as to the purpose of the puzzle chambers. Simple drawings of an assortment of Unown. Many photographs are tucked between the pages of this section. Kayneth's arm or part of his head can be seen in some of them.
--- Violet City
Summary: It's actually wine after all. Oh well. Lots of photographs of Violet City.
Journal 2
A small notebook purchased in Violet City. Identical to the first, except the cover is green.
Contents:
--- Team Rocket
Summary: Team Rocket is really awful people. Descriptions of what Ondorus knows about their MO and recent activity, with the disclaimer that this information is largely secondhand.
--- Pokemon Battling
Summary: Basic description of battling/training conventions and techniques, including the switch-in training method, type diversity, the dynamics between Pokemon and trainers, and the role battle plays in society. Savvy readers might be able to tell that the writing is a little slanted towards the Pokemon's perspective.
--- Pokeballs
Summary: How they work, and a lot of pondering about the moral implications of their existence. Has a distinctly unsure tone.
--- Pokegear
Summary: Brief amazement at the fact that this exists, a description of its capabilities (laced with wow), and some pondering on the kinds of things people post and how talking over it is different from talking in person.
Journal 3
A small notebook purchased in Olivine.
Contents:
-- Fourth Wall
Summary: ...well, it was supposed to document the occurrences of the fourth wall event, but most of the information pertaining to that vanished. How odd.
-- Notes on Johto
Summary: Technical notes on Johto's routes - for instance, illustrations and descriptions of edible plants, common signs of Pokemon-related dangers like Beedrill hive activity, and observations of natural patterns.
Journal 4
A small notebook purchased in Ecruteak. Bears patterns iconic of Ecruteak design.
Contents:
-- Friends and Acquaintances
Summary: An ever-ongoing compilation of information from Ondorus' encounters with other trainers. No sensitive personal information is put down, but general impressions, likes and dislikes, and information about their worlds are neatly recorded.
Journal 5
A large notebook purchased in Goldenrod. Has a purple cover.
Contents:
-- What is a Pokemon?
"There is as much variation in the character of Pokemon as in the character of monsters. From the simple interests of the wild Sentret clan to the sophisticated occupations of the hermit prophet Xatu, their motivations and psychologies cover the whole of the spectrum that life has to offer. But what unites them?..." A lot of questions and observations, and very few answers.
