What makes Pokemon different from humans?

When a human has a desire, they collect Pokemon and go to fulfill it. That is how this world works.

When a Pokemon has a desire, what do they do?

Why must the free lives of Pokemon be the cost of a human's wish to act?

Who decided that Pokemon were possessions to be bought and sold and bartered with?

All beings think and feel and wish.

Please consider this.

I think the person above me had a good point. I've also asked my pokemon how they feel about battling and they all wanted to do it. If they ever want to stop, then I would never make them keep fighting.
