002; voice/action for route 30

[The voice post is made just before sunset.]

What an odd place, that a nomadic life is so common.

[Brief pause.]

It's certainly not the kind of life I'm familiar with. Does anyone have any practical tips for the road? Pathfinding, cooking, camping...anything is helpful, really.

...Also, is there some safer method of training small Pokemon with little combat ability? I can't help but be hesitant to order a Caterpie to fend off attacks of any kind...

[End of recording.

Ondorus can be found on Route 30 from the 29th of August to the 5th of September. His shoulder is occupied at all times by his prim little Natu - and from the 31st to the 3rd, the other one is taken up by a snoozing Caterpie.]

Stock up on supplies whenever you reach the next city. Might be worth spending a few weeks working a job, just so you have some extra pocket change.

The map in your PokéGear is a life saver, so if you need to figure out where to go, I'd consult it first. It also helps to catch a larger Pokémon to cut down travel times. Onix can be found in Union Cave, and it'll make your whole life easier.

[He snickers.]

As for the Caterpie... avoid flying types, and you should be okay. Bug types are most effective against grass, so if you find any Bellsprout, they make for good target practice. Otherwise, you'll want to give yours some backup. At least until it becomes a Butterfree.

Yeah. Once it hits level ten, it'll evolve into a Butterfree. Not the toughest Pokémon, but they can learn Psychic attacks and stat moves that make battles a million times easier.

Moves that poison, paralyze, burn, freeze, and put enemies to sleep, for example.

Beats me. I wouldn't touch Violet City with a twenty foot pole.

But there's probably at least a bookstore.

It's just plain dull. Not to mention that once you get there, you'll. Never. Leave.

Not for six months, anyway.

Yes.

And I'm not the only one who feels that way, either.
