What an odd place, that a nomadic life is so common.

It's certainly not the kind of life I'm familiar with. Does anyone have any practical tips for the road? Pathfinding, cooking, camping...anything is helpful, really.

...Also, is there some safer method of training small Pokemon with little combat ability? I can't help but be hesitant to order a Caterpie to fend off attacks of any kind...

Ondorus can be found on Route 30 from the 29th of August to the 5th of September. His shoulder is occupied at all times by his prim little Natu - and from the 31st to the 3rd, the other one is taken up by a snoozing Caterpie.]

"Safety by the caravan." It just amazes me that, in a land with such established cities, this lifestyle is so prevalent. [yes ondy you said that already] I wonder what compels the natives?

Lack of space? Most cities don't seem to have room for all the locals. It's easier to make it on the roads than it is homeless in a city.

[but isn't that the point at which cities just get...added onto? or new cities built? there's more than enough room around cherrygrove...!]

If that were the case, I would expect to find more campsites out here, or even small villages.

[Johto as a whole is static, apparently. Without them arriving, nothing much would have changed.]

Do caravans or nomads build campsites or villages? Camps can be taken down while villages take supplies and time to build. Do these people seem the type to do that kind of thing?

[There is infrastructure in place that supports constant travel, but it just...weird. It's very, very weird. Maybe he's coming at it from the wrong angle, by considering it in terms of the cultures he knows...]

...Finding a group to travel with sounds like a good idea.

Doesn't even have to be a group. Find someone heading the same way and partner up for the trip. You'd both benefit.
