[So today Ondorus had been doing a bit of training out on Route 32, as is normal these days.
What wasn't normal was hearing a commotion a little ways away, and going to check it out and finding an Ekans biting the living daylights out of a poor wild Mareep.
Ondorus, being One Of Those People when it came to animals (especially of the wooly kind), saw only one solution. Olivia had no difficulty in driving off the bewildered Ekans, and the wounded, poisoned Mareep soon found itself inside a latching Pokeball.
....and then the Pokeball disappeared.
Ondorus quickly realized the reason for this, and hurried back to the Violet Pokemon Center.]
[At the Pokemon Center, Ondorus rushes into the building, looks around for the PC, goes to it, and...spends a while fumbling with it, looking worried. When he finally has a grasp on how it works, he notices something, pauses, looks extremely confused, then clumsily withdraws not one, but two Pokemon from the PC.
The first one he lets out is the injured, poisoned, weakly bleating Mareep, which he scoops up and delivers to the Nurse Joy immediately. He then hesitantly lets out the second Pokemon.
....this Sewaddle seems familiar.
Ondorus can be found in the Pokemon Center during that hullabaloo....or after it. Afterwards he is sitting in a chair with the Sewaddle on his lap, the Mareep at his feet, and his Xatu sitting in the chair next to him, all three munching on Pokemon-treats while he rubs idly at the bridge of his nose, looking tired, with his glasses in his other hand.]
[Later in the day, there is a post!]
I believe the girl named Yui has returned home. I found her Sewaddle in the PC today, but it appears he ended up there some time ago...
[He feels kind of awful about that.]
...the PC. It makes me feel rather uncomfortable, to think of leaving Pokemon there...wherever "there" is. But seven companions can't be taken outside of the city, it seems.
[Mmmrr. He folds his hands together, frowning. What is he going to do about this?]
Could someone explain to me what the PC is, and how it works? This world's technology... [He shakes his head in amazement as he ends the recording.]

Of course, because Descole is a pretentious little jerk like that and all true art is incomprehensible and weirdly-angled, the shot isn't really showing you too much of him. It's focused low, most of his body from the waist up visible in the rather stark lighting of the room (at least today he hasn't decided that true art is also poorly-lit); he's standing behind a metal table of some sort, his hands toying with small mechanical parts while he speaks. He's not giving you too much of his face, however; the mask he always wears isn't visible, you're getting maybe the lower half if you're lucky and his head is angled right.
It seems this message has caught him in the middle of Doing Science; he's still going to respond, however.]
My condolences regarding this..."Yui", Ondorus; I've lost a few acquaintances from this place myself, it's never pleasant.
And as for the PC, I suppose that depends on what you want to know about it. "What it is" is a bit vague; it's somewhere to keep the creatures you catch, nothing more. They don't particularly seem to mind, in my experience, nor does it harm them. Besides, given how centered this place is on these animals, I'd think there would be less willingness to use them in this place if it did harm them - to my knowledge, the natives designed the system, and they seem rather fixated on forming bonds with their Pokemon.

That's true. Aside from the actions of Team Rocket, I've seen nothing from humans but goodwill towards Pokemon both wild and tame.

I suppose it's just a matter of comfort. I don't trust this world's technology enough to put my own life in its hands, and I wouldn't trust it with the safety of my charges, either.

Well, if you put it that way... I spend most of my time back home around dangerous machinery, you see; as such, this isn't anything I really think about. It took some getting used to, to be sure, but it isn't anything I found too troubling. However, for those unacquainted with it...yes, I can see where it would be a concern, I suppose.
[He pauses for a moment; more...fiddling with those metal bits of whatever-the-hell.]
As for Team Rocket, I do hope you haven't run into too many of that lot.

I don't think it's that strange... The more attached to them you are, the less you'll like having to keep them in there, even if you do know it's completely safe.

It may also be that I empathize too strongly with Pokemon to behave as most trainers do, in this and other regards.
